Well boys and girls, it’s August 2012, that means it’s the 25th month of the 2010 Summer Bonanza! Yippee! Or is it going to be more like “Where is my bonus, KT?”:

Yes folks, it’s that time of year where the 2010 Summer Bonanza officially gets to be paid out!

However, much speculation has arisen as to whether or not the bonus of $10,000 will actually be paid or not, as was reported here.

In an email from GIN offices, it looks like excuses for not paying are quick to arrive:

Hi ***

Thank you for contacting the Global Information Network. The 2010 Summer Sales Bonanza bonus of $10,000 will be paid out by check. It will take some time for GIN to verify that everyone who joined as a Member or Upgraded during the July-August 2010 time frame has paid their dues successfully for 24 months and has attended at least one of the major events required. Winners will be notified when the final results are completed. Thank you for your patience.

So, naturally, questions popped up.

1. 1)Why will it take some time to verify? You’ve had two years to track everyone’s payments and attendance records! Besides, surely you’ve got all these details on a database, right? You do keep accurate records, don’t you? So...get the list printed and start getting the checks out! Heck, you can even have the computer do it for you! My old job many moons ago, was ensuring that 20,000+ checks were printed out by computer at my university, yearly, with 6 weeks to 3 years old, records. It was easy, it was simple, it was automated!
   

2. 2)“Winners will be notified”? WINNERS??? Are you f@&%ing SERIOUS?!!!! This wasn’t a COMPETITION! This was a deal to pay each person who adhered to the rules, a bonus payment of $10,000 ! This wasn’t some enter to win, you might get lucky, bullshit contest! This was a Summer Sales Bonanza, where anyone who stayed in GIN for 24 months, paid their dues on time and attended 1 major event per year, would automatically qualify to receive the bonus payout!!
   

3. 3)“Please email us if you have any further questions.” - yeah, well let’s hope you can keep up with the oncoming onslaught of emails when thousands of members ask for their checks!
   

4) Wasn’t it only until July 31st, 2010?

Anyway, as this site is supposed to be fair, I’m going to ask you, the members, to write here or email in, if you get your check or not. Please note that I won’t simply accept an “I got my check, your sources were wrong!” whiny type of email. If you get your check/cheque, send in a picture to prove it! (You can cover up your family name/address, etc), but as part of our new policy on accepting material for submission, pictures must be included or copies of original documents.

On the other hand, if you don’t receive anything (I’ve been told, but yet to verify, that bonuses for May 2012 have not been paid, and if that’s the case, it could well mean there is no bonus check for this bonanza either), then let us know here in the Comments box to the right.

My genuine hope is that everyone who adhered to this bonanza requirement, gets paid and that everyone gets paid before the end of the month! Hey, if they can send that damn repetitive magazine out to everyone, they sure as heck should be able to send out money on time!

But, I’m not holding my breath and envisage this will be an ongoing problem, with a multitude of excuses. Let’s see...
